MADD President Calls for Passage of .08 BAC and Primary Seat Belt in West Virginia
MADD President Wendy Hamilton called on West Virginia Senators this week to pass House Bill 2203 that combines .08 percent blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and primary seat belt legislation. The connected laws are being considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee following passage by the House last week.

(3/8 - 3/21/03) Wendy Hamilton will travel to Chicago for the 2003 Lifesavers National Conference on Highway Safety Priorities. Following the conference, Wendy will fly to Hawaii for the dedication of MADD Hawaii's Victim Memorial located in Kaka'ako Waterfront Park to provide a venue for remembrance, reflection, and hope .

Chrysler Group Announces MADD Partnership, New Program Helps Parents Safely Ease Their Teens Into Driving -- "Road Ready Teens"
Six out of 10 parents say driving safety is a top concern when it comes to their teens -- far outranking fears such as pregnancy and suicide, according to a newly unveiled survey. A new Chrysler Group program developed in association with MADD and the National Safety Council, "Road Ready Teens," will help parents protect new teen drivers. Chrysler Group will also sponsor next year's MADD high-school multi-media assembly show .

This St. Patrick's Day holiday, MADD is reminding Americans to rely on designated drivers rather than luck when it comes to celebrations involving alcohol. [ ALCOHOL NEWS FROM JOIN TOGETHER ] Underage and Adult Excessive Drinking Accounts for Half of U.S. Alcohol Sales
A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows that underage drinkers accounted for nearly 20 percent of the alcohol consumed in the United States in 1999. MADD is on a mission to prevent underage drinking.
