April 7th is World
Health Day, and
the World Health
Organization (WHO)
has dedicated World
Health Day 2004
to the theme of
road safety. MADD
is proud to join
WHO and the Pan
American Health
Organization in
the kick-off of
World Health Day
2004 and help focus
international attention
on issues of traffic
safety, including
alcohol-related
crashes, which account
for 41 percent of
all traffic fatalities
in the United States.

victims' rights
]
In two weeks, the
victims' rights
constitutional amendment
will be heard on
the Senate floor.
This amendment would
help protect crime
victims' rights
to be notified,
present, and considered
in criminal cases,
something that is
lacking in current
law.
This is the first
time this amendment
has come to a vote
in the full Senate
and we need to persuade
undecided senators
to vote for the
amendment.
